I am looking for a particular machine

In the "used equipment search page" (click "Search" from the top button on the side panel), first chose the main category of the machine you are looking for. The search page defaults to offset sheet. If you select any of the other categories from the drop down menu (eg prepress), the search engine will automatically produce a list of the various subcategories under which prepress is listed (eg RIPs or scanners).

Select one of these categories (or you can select all the subcategories). You can refine your search by specifying a manufacturer from the drop down list.You can also specify a country if you only want machines available in a particular location.

When you are ready, press "Search". You will soon see a new page (UPEXchange - search results) which will show a summary list of machines that are available for sale. If the page shows that there are no machines which match your search criteria, you should press "New machinery search" (or the back button on your browser), and try a new search, and be less specific in your search criteria (eg select all countries or all manufacturers).

The summary will list all the machines which meet your criteria, and will give the subcategory, the manufacturer and the model, as well as the number of machines available of this type.

Once you have found a machine that you would like to know more about, simply click on the column "no. of machines" to get a complete list of available machines, showing the year of manufacture, the price and currency in which sold, the country and any comments about the machine.

Clicking on "Model" will then give information about the dealer who is selling the machine and also a picture of the machine if one is available The dealer page will give complete information about the dealer and you have the option of viewing a complete list of the dealer's machines (by clicking the name of the seller). You can then email or call the dealer direct to continue the deal.

Searching by dealer

1 If you would prefer to search by dealer, rather than by machine, you can do this from the main search page (click "Enter search" from the top button on the navigation panel). Simply click on "Search by dealer" at the bottom of the page and ignore all the other options.

2 You will then be presented with a the Dealer search page. You should select a country from the scrolling list and then wait for the search engine to provide you with a list of dealers in the country you have chosen.

3 Then select the dealer you want before pressing the "Search" button.

4 You will then be given a complete list of the machines available from the dealer you have chosen , together with contact details. You can then email or call the dealer direct to continue the deal.

I am a subscriber and want to update my list of machines

1 To update your machines online, you will need a user name and password. You should have been issued with these when you first took out your subscription. If you have not got these or have mislaid them, please email password@upexchange.com from your company email address and we will send you the information. If you have changed your password and have forgotten it, again email us to get this sent to you.

2 To edit your list, click on "Online updating UPEXchange dealer login" from the navigation panel and enter your user name and password, before clicking "Login". Please note that you must have cookies enabled to enter (if you have disabled cookies, use your browser settings to enable cookies for this site). (This is a safety feature to ensure that no unauthorised user can change your details: If more than six unsuccessful attempts are made to login, the user is permanently denied entry). Subscribers who have opted for one machine only subscription level are not entitled to update the machine (you need to upgrade to the 10 machines subscription level go to the online ordering form for details).

3 Once your password has been authenticated, you are presented with a complete listing of your details on our database. This will show you how many machines your subscription entitles you to have and how many (if any) further machines you can list. You have five options:

• Change my password (please ensure that you take a careful note of the new password).
• Edit my profile Clicking on this link will allow you to make any changes you like to your profile (eg telephone number or address).
• Edit an existing machine
• or Delete an existing a machine Before clicking either of these buttons, you need to click on the radio button next to the machine you wish to change or delete. Clicking on "Edit" will present you with a complete list of available fields, such as manufacturer, price, Currency, condition, comments, any of which you can change. Once you have made the changes, press "Update". You will then be presented with a new page asking you to review and confirm the changes you have made. If you are happy with the changes, you can then press "Update" to confirm them. If at any time you have made a mistake, you can always edit the machine list again. If you want to delete a machine, the procedure is similar to updating and you will be asked to confirm the deletion.
• Insert a machine Adding a machine is also straightforward, as long as the model of the machine you wish to add is already listed on our database. Simply press the "Insert" button on the page listing your details and machines (after the dealer logon page). You will be presented with a list of fields and options from which you can choose. Once you are satisfied, press "Insert" and the you will be asked to confirm the insert, before the new machine is added to your list. If you cannot find the manufacturer or the model number of the machine you wish to add, then you should click on the "submit new machine form" link. This will give you a further page in which you can insert the name of the manufacturer of your machine and its model as well as other details. Pressing "Submit" will allow the chance to confirm the information before pressing "Submit" once more. The information you provide will be submitted to us for review to ensure that it can be incorporated into our database. It will not be added automatically to the database online. We will contact you by email once the information has been reviewed and a decision made on whether the machine can be added as you have requested. (Note that this is a safety feature to ensure the integrity of the database and to avoid similar or identical machines or models being listed in differing ways.)

Subscribing to UPEXchange

If you want to subscribe, please click on the "Subscribe" button to get information and to proceed to the online form. There are various subscription options, from listing one machine only to 1000 machines.

UPEXchange is an online database run by the same company behind UPEX, the world's only exhibition entirely devoted to used printing machinery. UPEX has been running annually since 1995, and UPEXchange has been a service offered to exhibitors since 1996. The UPEXchange service was extended to dealers who were not UPEX exhibitors in 1998.
